How to Install Ignition Wires on a 1995 Chevy Camaro
- 1). Pop the hood and look behind the fan and below the intake tubing to locate the Optispark distributor, just underneath the water pump. Pick the top wire on the right side of the distributor and grip it at the base. Pull it off the distributor with a twisting motion.
- 2). Follow the spark plug wire to the spark plug it's connected to. Pull it off the spark plug with a twisting motion. Lay out the replacement ignition wires onto a table or work surface so that they are laid out end to end. Compare the wire you just removed to with the wires on the work surface. Find one of matching length and pull it out of the pile.
- 3). Connect one end of the replacement spark plug wire into the spark plug, using a firm push until it clicks into place. Run the wire to the distributor and connect it into its place.
- 4). Repeat steps 1-3 for the remaining spark plug wires, working from top to bottom on the right side, then working from top to bottom on the left side of the distributor, until all of the wires are replaced.
